Volunteer Recognition Day:
A Tribute to the Dedication and Impact of Hope Community Center
At Hope Community Center, we want to create a space to celebrate the heroes among us. Their acts of kindness and generosity brighten the lives of those who walk through our doors. Our volunteers bring our mission to life, and today, we honor the heroes who stand with us. They stand with us as a force for change and wellness in our community.
The Reward of Service: The Impact of Volunteering
Every testimonial and word of gratitude reflects Hope Community Center volunteers’ profound impact on those around them. They share their passion for helping others through our programs and work tirelessly, each bringing their spark of Hope to our community.
The dedication of Hope volunteers is evident in every action and every hour of service. In 2023, we reached a total of 11,100 volunteer hours at HCC. Their commitment and dedication are truly inspiring. The reward is in the impact they make on others’ lives.
The Voice of our Volunteers: A Legacy of Gratitude
These are just a few people who take a moment to make the world a better place through their commitment and solidarity.
Hernán Moreno: “Ever since I was in high school, I have had the opportunity to volunteer. Thanks to that, I have met many amazing people in this organization. In addition, this has also opened doors to further my studies.”
Jenny Zamora: “Every program I have volunteered in is important. I feel like giving back to the community through Hope Community Center is an amazing way to show support for those who need it. I feel more connected through the citizenship program because my mother benefited from this program in the past. Volunteering here is like a full circle moment, giving back to someone who once gave to me.”
Judith Mandujano: “Community service is important for numerous reasons that benefit both the community and the volunteer. You get to perceive how your contribution to the community makes a difference and helps you grow as a person. You gain a new perspective and understand the world around you. Socializing is what community service and volunteering are about. Interaction within the community connects you with people and allows you to learn their stories.”
Kiriat Martínez: “I think it is very important to support people when they need it. All work that is done in the community is important and indispensable.”
Margaret Curran: “Knowing that my small contribution each week adds to what others are doing to help poor and marginalized people become visible, find their voices, and experience the rights each deserves motivates me to continue volunteering as I have for the past ten years.”
Sergio Delgado: “I think the most significant contribution is giving back of my time. It takes me an hour to get to Hope and an hour to drive back home. Yet I don’t see it as a burden; rather, I look forward to seeing the students each and every time I’m there.”
