Position Overview:
The Queer Project intern will report to the LGBTQ+ & Immigration Justice Organizing Manager within the Community Organizing Department and will support various projects throughout the summer of 2025.
To be eligible for QEP, applicants must:
- Identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
- Be a college junior or senior at Seminole State, UCF, or Valencia College.
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Be available for the full internship period (June 2–August 1, 2025).
Primary Job Functions:
- Support an LGBTQ+ Immigrant Justice Organizer with project management for an upcoming event such as the 2025 Apopka Pride, including planning, logistics, and outreach.
- Assist in developing educational content on immigrant and LGBTQ+ legislation, ensuring materials are accessible and engaging for community awareness.
- Contribute to the growth and impact of the Queer & Trans Immigrants (QTIs) program by assisting with program development, outreach strategies, and resource-building.
- Engage in community organizing efforts to support intersectional justice initiatives.
- Collaborate with team members to strengthen advocacy efforts and community engagement.

- Interest in LGBTQ+ and immigrant rights issues.

This internship position is funded through the Mukti Fund’s Queer Excellence Program for the summer of 2025.
