Dr. Omayra Mansfield is the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at AdventHealth Apopka and AdventHealth Winter Garden. Before this role, she served as the Chief of Staff at AdventHealth Celebration. She is board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a Fellow with the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Mansfield earned her Bachelor’s Degree in political science at Princeton University. She completed her medical degree and Masters in Healthcare Administration at the University of Florida and her emergency medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center.
Prior to working as an emergency physician, Dr. Mansfield spent five years in healthcare administration in several roles, including ICU administration and finance management. She has been honored with the Resident Research Award, SAEM Excellence in Emergency Medicine Award, and the AMA Medical Student Leadership Award, among others.
Dr. Mansfield has a passion for motivating others to achieve a life of health and balance. She co-authored The Trust Transformation, a workshop that helps participants transform and improve the relationships in their lives by building a foundation of trust. Her primary areas of interest are improving the physician and patient experience as it relates to improving provider wellbeing, patient adherence to care, and clinical outcomes, and she has lectured extensively on these topics.
She is married to Frederick, a pediatric anesthesiologist with USAP-Florida. Together they enjoy the adventure that is raising their daughter Elizabeth and son Alexander who regularly remind them to savor the little joys in life. They stay healthy doing Crossfit and running together.
