“Hearts For Hope”
An Event That Allows Us To Dream Collectively
“Hearts for Hope” is a Hope CommUnity Center signature event that includes 10 years of sharing and connecting with the community. This year, in celebration of 50 years, we offered a special edition where supporters and guests had the opportunity to engage in virtual conversations to learn more about our mission. It was a gathering full of heartfelt testimonials from community members, volunteers, and program participants.
This year, Hearts for Hope featured 13 virtual group conversations filled with uplifting testimonials where attendees had the chance to dream together regardless of physical distance. AdventHealth representative Kyalamboka Andrews commented: “It is important to keep creating platforms where these conversations can happen and listen to as many voices as we can to create the world we all want to live in.” Community members openly shared their experiences and came to the event to learn more about us and support our cause.
Among the event activities conducted was the first session of “Imagine Something Different,” a special conversation with Sister Ann exclusively for Heart’s for Hope virtual attendees.
She tells us in her own words: “… if we only fight, we have our fists clenched. We could open our hands to build something new, a dream. And if we only know how to fight against, and we don’t know how to rebuild or build something new, we don’t know how to win”.
Visit our page: Hearts For Hope 2022 to listen to the inspiring testimonies shared that day. It’s just the beginning of imagining a brighter world for all of us.
This event would not have been possible without the support of AdventHealth, Disney, St Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Key Food Fresh, Rollins College, Community Health Centers, Certified Financial Group, Inc, Foundation for Seminole State College, R.A Simasek, P.A, Rose Property Group Inc & Valencia College.
Our work continues which is why, now more than ever, we need your support. Your contributions will help sustain Hope’s College and Career Access, Youth & Family, and Academic Support programs.
As our new Director of Donor Relations, Debo Ofsowitz, states: “We want to look ahead with intention, to think about what we want to do and start doing it.”
The time to act is now. We invite you to follow our 50-year celebration, where we will continue more of our “Imagine Something Different” sessions with Sister Ann and members of our community. Hope Más!
