Giving “Más” to the Community: But what does “Y Más!” mean?
After the world’s hardships over the past few years, we finally have the chance to take a moment to celebrate 50 years of legacy. Half a century ago, three Radical Nuns arrived at Apopka with a dream of making the world a better place for everyone in the community. Many years later, HCC continues to honor the past by looking toward the future with sincere Hope. 2022 has been a year of celebration for Hope CommUnity Center that ends with our 50 Years Y Más! Fiesta.
Hope’s past has been a fantastic journey, and now that we’ve reflected on those 50 years, we’re focusing on the “Y Más!” But what does “Y Más!” (And More!) mean? In a nutshell, it means:
- More Advocacy.
- More Community Organizing.
- More Impact.
- More Change.
- More Hope for the years to come!
November is a month when everyone takes a moment to acknowledge unique and meaningful people, life-changing events, and the things they are most grateful for in life. Of course, a big part of showing gratitude is demonstrating appreciation for the kindness and positive things you’ve given us, and what better way to do so than by giving back some compassion and change in the world?
Gratitude defines itself as the readiness to show appreciation for and return kindness. At Hope CommUnity Center, gratitude drives the concept of “Y Más!” Our goal is to get back to our roots and take what we’ve given the communities of Central Florida over the past 50 years to a whole new level, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to do so.
How can you help? Become part of Hope’s future by contributing to this year’s Giving Tuesday Campaign. Giving Tuesday is “a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.”
Be part of Hope’s mission to give Más advocacy, community organizing, and impact, “Y Más!”
