The months leading up to HCC’s 43rd Annual Toy Store are a testament to the power of community connection, faith, and appreciation for others. For many months, a huge collective of people work together to organize a two-day event that completely transforms the holiday experience for hundreds of families in Central Florida.
We receive thousands of toy donations every year that go to hardworking and deserving families. The toys make their way to St. Francis of Assisi Church in Apopka, where the Toy Store is held, because so many people said “yes” to bringing a smile to a child’s face for the holiday season. Because so many had faith that Hope CommUnity Center was the organization that could truly make magic happen with their donations. Because so many know that Hope CommUnity Center bridges connections with people, and that the Toy Store’s impact reaches far beyond the two-day event.
Thank you to absolutely every single person, organization, and business that made this happen. Thank you HCC Staff, HCC Board, HCC CommUnity Advisory Committee, HCC Youth and Family Department, HCC Sin Fronteras Youth Group, Notre Dame Mission Volunteer AmeriCorps, HCC Volunteers, Notre Dame Club of Greater Orlando, the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic, Disney, Patty Dee Young, and so many people that came together. Your contributions, whether it was volunteer work or toy donations, have created a dignified and memorable Christmas for many in Central Florida.
Thank you.
